Getting Started with Your CodeGPT Bot on Slack
We're excited to have you on board and can't wait for you to start using our bot. To get started, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Set Up Your Connection
First things first, let's get your connection all set up. This is a crucial step in getting your bot up and running. To do this, you'll need to pick a channel (or all the channels if that's your jam) where you want the bot to hang out. This will ensure that the bot is available to assist you and your team whenever you need it.
Step 2: Choose an Agent
Next, you'll need to choose one of your agents for your bot. This is the persona that your bot will take on when interacting with you and your team. Pick the one that best fits your team's needs and preferences.
Step 3: Save Your Channel(s) and Agent
Once you've selected your channel(s) and agent, be sure to save your choices. This will ensure that your bot is properly configured and ready to start chatting with you and your team.
Step 4: Start Chatting with Your Bot
Now that your bot is all set up, it's time to start chatting! To strike up a conversation,
invite the bot to your channel in Slack by attempting to mention it with an @ and sending the message, which will prompt you to invite it. Simply tag @codeGPT (or whatever cool name you assign to it later on) in your channel. The bot will respond by starting a thread, and you can keep the conversation going right there.
Optional : Give Your Bot a Name Makeover
Let's spruce up your bot's style! 🎨 You can easily change your bot's name by heading over to your workspace menu, clicking on "Manage apps", finding your bot in the list, and clicking on it. From there, you'll see the option to change its name. Get creative and give your bot a name that reflects its personality and purpose.
And that's it! You're all set to start using your CodeGPT bot. Happy chatting! 🤖
